Tasting Notes:

Muscat what? Well, according to Master Sommelier Jancis Robinson, the Muscat Blanc grape was "probably the most common vine imported into southern Gaul by the Romans." Now, don't fall asleep on us. This is history in a glass! This is a grape so well-travelled that there are different names for it in France and Spain, and all anyone can really tell you is it's delicious. A sweet kiss of white flowers with pineapple and orange peel richness are matched in lusciousness by figs drizzled with honey and topped with crunchy honeycomb. Full-flavored, grown in Paso Robles, and the perfect sweet ending to a long day. You deserve this.

Appellation Notes: Paso Robles AVA

If any “wine professional” from Paso Robles tells you, “It’s actually quite cool in Paso Robles,” ask to see their air conditioning bill—from December. Yeah, so, nestled in the heart of San Luis Obispo County, Paso Robles enjoys a warm, Mediterranean climate (read: insanely hot) with cool nights (if you think 90 degrees is cool), making it ideal for a diverse range of grape varieties (to suffer). But here’s the thing: the truth is, there are pockets of cool Pacific breezes, which funnel in from gaps in the coastal mountain ranges, and that creates a host of microclimates where grapes can thrive. While Paso Robles, established as an AVA in 1983, makes the boldest California reds we know—Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah—it’s also a pretty cool place to visit. Cool, as in, how Snoop Dogg thinks Martha Stewart is pretty cool. The Paso Market? The cookies from Just Baked? OMG.
