2016 Lucy's Reserve Zinfandel
Nestled at the base of rugged mountains, this vineyard is just north of Cloverdale, in the very northern tip of Sonoma’s Alexander Valley. It sports vines that carry an ancient clone of Zinfandel from nearby St. Peter’s Church. Perfectly ripe grapes were hand-harvested in late September 2016 and the wine was produced using small lot punch down technology; which allows us to use different yeasts and a different percent of whole clusters for added complexity. This delicious Zinfandel reveals briary black berries, ripe plums, red and black currants, and a bit of smoky vanilla.
